The Mask Remains Sacred
You have asked me where my masks come from.
That is the wrong question to ask Nagual.
My entangled relationship to all my masks is another way of saying that they are sacred. Each of my masks tells a story, and I have thousands of stories to tell. I tell these stories in my cave, and I also write them down from time to time.
I am not a merchant. I am not a mask maker. I am not a cosplayer. Learn that. Know that.
I am something altogether different.
I embody each mask, using techniques of mysticism handed down to me by my ancestors. Some of my masks reveal vast open worlds of joy. Other masks lead to doorways of terror and sensuality.
The real questions you need to answer for yourself are, “Why am I drawn to masks? What are the implications of wearing one? What are its pleasures, but also what are the consequences?”
